The BodyGuard family now includes two new infusion pumps. The BodyGuard 545 Color Vision™ and BodyGuard 575 Color Vision™ infusion pumps have been developed to deal with the special requirements of patient-controlled pain therapy, postoperative pain therapy and regional anaesthesia.
For the user, a useful feature of the new infusion pumps is that standard therapies can be saved as protocols. This means the appropriate treatment plan is quick to select and errors can be avoided. Safety is further increased by the inclusion of individual dose limits, which prevent the risk of overdose, and passwords to protect against unauthorised access and unwanted alterations. Dose limits can also be adjusted to the patient’s weight, if need be, using the MediGuard™ option. What’s more, the BodyGuard Color Vision™ infusion pumps are colour coded. This makes it possible to see at once whether pain therapy (blue) or epidural pain therapy (yellow) is being given. The clear menu structure, large well-organised colour display and numerical keypad make for easy, safe operation. At the same time the small, compact construction of these infusion pumps gives patients excellent freedom of movement.
