pfm medical mepro gmbh has extended its facility at Nonnweiler-Otzenhausen, Germany. The new spaces are to be officially opened on September 12, 2014. The guests expected at the celebration will include members of the local community and representatives of the Saarland state political scene.
The overall business space has been increased by 1,200 m² and the cleanroom production facility has been extended to cover 900 m² so that additional capacity for domestic production has been created. The research and development section so essential for the company’s innovative drive also received additional space.
Even now, with 180 employees, pfm medical mepro gmbh is a significant employer in the region. The new building is complete and already in use, providing space for further future-proof jobs in this demanding and highly technical area.
pfm medical msg gmbh, a wholly owned subsidiary, occupies buildings at the same location that have also been significantly extended. The company specialises in the EO sterilization of end products and thus fulfils a crucial role in the production chain with regard to product safety. Here too, the new buildings make a much greater area available for storage and dispatch. The capacity of the sterilization plant has also been doubled to 18,000 pallets per year. The facility is used not only for the company’s own products but also for those of external clients who hire its sterilization services.
The considerable investment of 2.5 million euros at the Saarland location demonstrates a clear vote on the part of the parent company, pfm medical ag, for quality “made in Germany”.
